He was predeceased by: his parents, George Allen and LuMeda Belle McKinney Hickam; his brother George Hickom; his nephew Lewis Hickom of Georgia; and his siblings, Aubrey (Lydia), Cecil (Anna), Bryan (Vera), Glenn (Maxine), Jesse (Sara Hickam), Carolyn Hickam, Mabel (Charles Minton), Juanita (Dick Gaddis), Charles Cavaness (Raymond Smithey), Hazel (Fred Lilly) and Clara (Lee Dallas).
He is survived by: his children, George J. Hickam (Kim), Jack Hickam (Sherri) and Judith D. Hickam (Fred); his stepchildren, Monty Walker, Connie Boyd (Kent) and Sharon Abernathy; his grandchildren, Patricia Henard (Mike), Angie Bowen (Tim), Victoria J. Wright, Charles Hartline II (Kiya), Chad Hartline (Mihia), Jenny Hertter (Louie), Jackie Hickam, Jamie Larsen (Erik), Jeffrey Hickam (Anniston), Jeremy Hickam (Katie), Jill O'Dell (Ben), Tina Glasco, Cindy King, Zac Cobb, Marria Walker and Curtis Walker; his sister Gladys Cavaness Smithey; his daughters, Wilma Joan Hickam Sweitzer and Julianna M. Hickam; his stepson Roy Walker; his grandchildren, Deborah Lynn Hickam and Jeffery Scott Hickam; his great grandchild Andrew Larson; his daughter Opal Elizabeth Martin Hickam; and his stepdaughter Betty J. Aden Walker Hickam. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Anna Veteran's Home, First Evangelic Presbyterian Church of Anna, or a charity of the donor's choice.
