He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Penrod and Grace E. Penrod (Ballance); his wife Barbara Jean Penrod; his son Allen Lee Penrod; and his siblings, Virginia Goodman, Mildred Shelton, Burle, Jimmy, Merl Penrod, Opal Sadler, Helen Dunagan and Uela Walker.

He is survived by: his son Ricky Joe Penrod (Leslie); his grandchildren, Michaela Sizemore (Bobby), Colten Penrod (Alyssa) and Mia DeHarpart; his great grandchildren, Kimberly, Piper, Grayde Sizemore, Drake Penrod and Ella Helton; and his sister Patty Hinson. He is also survived by extended family and many friends.
