He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Peterson (Johnson) and Ivan Peterson. He is survived by: his wife Eilene Peterson; his children, Laura Rickey (Brad) and Craig Peterson (Doris); his grandchildren, Allison (Dalton), Karl, Ashley and Eva; and his brother Dave Peterson (Deb). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Memorials may be made to the Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover Historical Society, and/or the Jenny Lind Chapel.
