He was predeceased by: his parents, James Matthews and Mary Matthews (Carl); and his sons, Don and Owen Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Miriam Rosalie Camp; his children, James Matthews of Galesburg, Roy Matthews Jr. of Galesburg and Katherine Parrot (Jim) of Macomb; and his stepdaughters, Krystal Lohrei of Franklin and Karole Bolin Tedin of Altona. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
