He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tolbert and Alice Tolbert (Skinner); and his siblings, Angela, Richard "Ricky" and Anthony "Tony" Tolbert.

He is survived by: his daughter Tiana Anderson; his mother-in-law Betty Nelson; his siblings, Cathy Tolbert, Sharon Willis (Paul), John Tolbert, Jr. and Lori Ann Brown; and his aunts, Lois Quinn and Pearl Talbert. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
