He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson James and Ruby Cardwell (Young); his children, Ralph E. Cardwell Jr., Debbie Stratton and Debra Wolf; and his siblings, Wilson Cardwell, Jr., Anna Pearl McLain, Maxine Suttles and Mary Lou Turner.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hillis; his sons, Don Cardwell, Russell Wolf, III and Justin Cardwell; and his brothers, Jerry Cardwell (Debbie) and Bob Cardwell. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Community Hope Center.
