He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert J. Johnson and Mary Lou "Peanut" Johnson (McClintock); his grandparents, Robert, Esther Johnson, Gregory and Margaret McClintock; his brothers-in-law, Jim Strebel and Chris Durr; and his nephew Gregory Peipert.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy; his sons, Nash and Noah Johnson; his mother-in-law Mary Ann Moses (Paul); his stepmother-in-law Sandy "Nana" Huber; his sisters, Jeanne Peipert (Chris), Jackie Cain (Mark), Judy Durr, Jane Strebel (Keith Krueger) and Julie Basler (Ethan); his siblings-in-law, Mary Ann (Thomas Otley), Matthew Huber, Suzanne Koechner (John), John Huber and Nancy Ann Hampton (Ernie Long); and his nieces and nephews, Wendie Peipert (Ryan Suprunowski), Nick Cain (Kendall), Tony Cain (Katie), David Strebel (Jen), Abbie Hodge (Dustin), Matt Cain, Jason Peipert (Katie), Monica Hardin (Jeff), Posy Henderson (Shane), Savanna Durr (Jacob Webb), Jett Durr (Cheyenne Hogue) and Alex Basler (Alex Wirth). He is also survived by 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (519 E 4th St, Alton, IL 62002). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Hospital and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, IL.
