He was predeceased by: his siblings, Mary Quintana, Tomasa Moralez (Mattie), Lino Cruz, Ysidro Cruz (Chito), Robert Cruz (Bobby), Anthony Cruz (Tony) and Manuel Cruz.

He is survived by: his wife Juanita Gonzales; his children, Michael Cruz (Linda) of Alton, Daniel Cruz of Bethalto, Connie St. Peters of St. Louis, Julie Weiner (Matt) of Jerseyville and Ken Cruz (Kristin) of Bethalto; his grandchildren, Trisha Cruz (Brock Smith), Kelsey Hawkins (Tyler), Morgan Deardeuff (Kyle), Alex St. Peters (Elizabeth Hawkins), Juliana Weiner (Jonathan Siddell), Emily Cruz, Zach Weiner and Abby Cruz; his great grandchildren, Kaden Hawkins, Jackson Hawkins, Rainah Deardeuff, Vada Hawkins, Weston Haley and Rylah Deardeuff; and his sisters, Lola Douglas, Gloria Davis and Nancy Comstock.
