He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Metts and Lois Metts (Graham); his wife Pauline Pelan of Flower; his stepson Frank Townsend; and his brother Daniel Metts.
He is survived by: his sister Rebecca Sparr of East Alton; his stepson Dan Townsend of Wood River; his nieces, Sara Abbacchi and Rachel Jones; his great-nephews, Lucas Abbacchi, Layton Jones and Carter Jones; and his great-niece Claire Abbacchi. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
