It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dustin Ryan Rister (Alton, Illinois), born in Rantoul, Illinois, who passed away on February 19, 2024, at the age of 37, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Anna Setser and Danny Maronie; and his pet Travis. He is survived by: his parents, Jeff Smith and Tammie Lea Smith (Hellrung) of Golden Eagle, IL.; his grandparents, Robert Hellrung of Alton and Linda Maronie of Wood River; his aunt Melissa; his uncle Doug King of Godfrey; and his cousins, Elise and Sophia King.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Post 1308 in Alton.
