He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Zimmerman and Lucille Zimmerman (Hediger); his stepmother Nellie Zimmerman; his parents-in-law, Harold and Marilyn Gaffney; his son David Zimmerman; his son-in-law Marv Miller; his grandson Samuel D. Biggs; and his brother Donald Zimmerman.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Zimmerman (Gaffney); his daughters, Vickie Miller and Amy Richey (Ben); his daughter-in-law Stephanie Zimmerman; his son Brian Biggs (LeeAnn); his grandchildren, Jake Zimmerman (Leah), Tiffany McCurdy (Andrew), Adam Smiley (Mattie), James Biggs, Bo Richey and Lucas Biggs; his great grandchildren, Mason McCurdy, Lincoln Zimmerman, Huxley McCurdy, Charli Zimmerman, Easton Smiley and Walker McCurdy; his brothers, Elvin Zimmerman (Rita) and Alan; and his sister-in-law Joan Gaffney. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gent Funeral Home (2409 State St, Alton, IL 62002). A memorial service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
