He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvin Brake and Maryellen Brake (Jeffords); his wife Patty Ohley; his son Charles A. Brake; his son-in-law Gary Sides; his siblings, Olivia Harris (Dewey), Louise Fields (Lafe) and Roy Len Brake; and his brother-in-law Herb Ohley.
He is survived by: his children, William Brake of Cape Girardeau, MO, Edward Brake (Maryellen) of Godfrey, Donna Bizaillion (Daniel) of Hardin and John Brake (Mindy) of Alton; his daughter-in-law Joy Brake of Euless, TX; his grandchildren, David Brake (Robin), Jennifer Capps, Kelby Brake, Ian Brake (Emily Slat), Jordan Brake (Dominick Casucci), Mariah Eilerman (Drew), Emily Cox (Drae), Jacob Bizaillion (Kelvin Urday) and CJ Brake; and his sister-in-law Yvonne Ohley of Alton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends and family.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Franklin Masonic Lodge #25 (1513 Washington Ave, Alton, IL 62002). A masonic service was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Upper Alton Cemetery (2090 Oakwood Ave, Alton, IL 62002).
