She was predeceased by: her parents, Lovis Cavender and Jewel Cavender (Joyce); her husband Melvin C. Simpson; and her brother Joe Cavender. She is survived by: her children, Tammy (Edward Fagenson), Christy (Chris Helling), Richard Simpson of Festus and Steve Simpson of Battlefield; her stepson Marshall Simpson of Four Oaks; her grandchildren, Rebecca Fagenson, Jacob Fagenson, Nicholas Simpson (Leslie), Tony Simpson (Young), Sean Simpson, Brandon Simpson, Allie Helling and Logan Helling; and her great grandchildren, Evie, Ginny, Liam and Vienna. She is also survived by many other extended family and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the 1st Baptist Church of Woodburn.
