With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ann Elizabeth Barker (Alton, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 17, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Ann Elizabeth may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Joseph and Sophia L. Hallek (Challacombe); her husband John Barker; and her brother James Hallek. She is survived by: her daughter Ellen Marie Bartel (Richard) of St. Louis, MO. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Gent Funeral Home (2409 State St, Alton, IL 62002).
