He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Bernard and Helen Elizabeth Bensman (Parison). He is survived by: his wife Ann Bensman of Matthew's Catholic Church; his daughters, Elizabeth M. Wells (Jake) and Sara A. Wheeler (Jason); his grandchildren, J. R. Wells, Josie Wells, Mia Pearl Wheeler and Ava June Wheeler; and his siblings, Connie Bond (Bob), Susie Bensman-Logsdon, Jim Bensman (Claire) and Jeff Bensman (Peggy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alton or Jerseyville Middle School's music programs to help purchase musical instruments for others. Memorials can be made out to AMS for Alton Middle School or JCMS for Jerseyville Middle School.
