With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Pauline L. Vail of Altamont, Illinois, who passed away on February 13, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Higgs and Birdie Higgs (Smith); her husband Kenneth E. Vail; and her siblings, Christine Wilcox, Jessie Lou Hooks and Melvin Higgs.
She is survived by: her children, Bradford E. Vail (Shirley) of Oak Harbor, Washington and Connie Van Zanten (Jack) of Chester, Virginia; her siblings, Levitt Higgs (Edie) of Altamont, Wanda Phillips of Altamont and Hilda Mae Shumaker of Effingham; her grandchildren, Matthew Van Zanten (Angie) of Choctaw, Hank Van Zanten (Teresa) of Houston and Heidi Van Zanten of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania; and her great grandchildren, Andra and Lane Van Zanten of Choctaw. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
