He is survived by: his children, Debra Bales (Dennis) of Altamont, IL, Douglas Hammer (Kimberly) of Altamont, IL, Pamela Kaufman (Kenneth) of Shumway, IL and Ronald Hammer of Altamont; his grandchildren, Jacob Bales (Kathleen), Zachary Bales (Samantha Headrick), Adam Bales (Alissa), Jordan Hammer (Ashley), Breana Johnson (Charles), Tony Kaufman, Lisa Nicole Kaufman (Chad Lystila) and Spencer Hammer (Rachel); his great grandchildren, Vivian, Gwen, Collins, Paisley, Presley, Adalyn and Owen; his siblings, Howard Hammer (Carolyn), Verda Mellendorf and Irma Mellendorf; and his siblings-in-law, Robert and Shirley Kneller.
