He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie B.'Tom' and Thelma M. Smitha (Higgs); his wife Judy K. List; his son Robert J. Smith; and his siblings, Gerald, Dale, Ray Allen Smith, Sue Cochran and Roberta Woodmansee.
He is survived by: his daughter DeeDee Tucker (Brian) of Altamont; his grandchildren, Travis Voelker (Ashli), Kelly Voelker, Cody Voelker (Marie), Jordan Smith and Haley Harris; his great grandchildren, Briana Hassebrock, Wade, Sadie, Charlotte, Ada and Elmer Voelker; and his sisters, Gail Lefler of Loxahatchee, FL and Brenda Hofmann of Altamont.
