It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph H. Willenborg of Altamont, Illinois, who passed away on February 23, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdinand C. and Mary A. Willenborg (Ruholl); his wife Cecelia P. Goeckner; his siblings, Leona Mary Willenborg, Albert Willenborg (Doris) and Andrew Willenborg (Sue Ann); his stepgrandson Kenneth Gouechener Jr.; his nephew John P. Willenborg; his nieces, Brenda Willenborg-Reiss and Charlotte Ruholl; his parents-in-law, John and Elizabeth Goeckner; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Goeckner, John Goeckner (Lucille), Dorothy Ruholl (Bernard), Bertha Hardig (Charlie), Theresa Kremer (Harry), Sister Eustacia Goeckner, Elizabeth Habing, Caroline Dooley and Anna Marie Lerfeld.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carol Jean Kuhlman (James Allen) of Shumway, Linda Gouchenouer (Kenny) of Altamont, Janet Willenborg of Altamont and Cindy Willenborg-Mathis (Stanley) of Shumway; his grandchildren, Steven Kuhlman (Dawn) of Beecher City, Patrick Kuhlman of Shumway, Derrick Kuhlman of Shumway, Cassie Will (John) of Newton and Mark Mathis (Lauren) of Mode; his stepgrandson Christopher Gouechener (Toby) of Lake Mary, Florida; his great grandchildren, Whitney Campbell of Mattoon, Kadin Kuhlman of Stewardson, Devin Kuhlman of Neoga, Alyssa Huber (Lewis) of United Kingdom, Lucas Will and Cecelia Jo Will of Newton; and his great great grandchildren, Aburi, Gracie and Edith.
His family requests no flowers or plants. Memorial donations may be given to St. Clare Catholic Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
