It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene E. Spilker of Altamont, Illinois, who passed away on September 9, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Irene E. Spilker to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolph Schmidt and Esther Schmidt (Eberhard); her brother Orville; and her sister-in-law Ruby Duckwitz. She is survived by: her husband Alvin Spilker of Altamont; her children, Jerry Spilker (Cathy Wharton) of Altamont and Sara Hoene (Kevin) of Effingham; her grandchildren, Jordan Spilker, Sadie Turner (Alex), Cole Hoene, Jared Hoene and Madison Hoene; her stepgrandchildren, Ashley, Ali Wharton and Justin Fry; her stepgreat-grandchild Aiden Holste; her siblings, Charlie Schmidt, Lorene Schultz (Allen) and Dorothy Verdeyen (John); and her sister-in-law Marilyn Wendling (Linder).
It is recommended that CDC and IDPH guidelines regarding Covid-19, including face covering and social distancing, be followed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HSHS Illinois Home Care (Hospice) or Lutheran Care Center.
