Geraldine A. Burton Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Geraldine A. Burton (Altamont, Illinois), who passed away on May 2, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira and Mildred (McAdams); her grandmother Engeljohn Ruff; her husband Frank "Vic" Victor Burton of Mason; her daughters, Alicia and Dawnelle Burton; her daughter-in-law Joella Burton (Kevin) of Effingham; her brothers-in-law, John E. Burton of Joliet, Alonzo Sexton (Crystal) of Springfield and Gary Rigdon (Virginia) of Brownstown; her friend Carroll Engeljohn; and her pets, Hiram, Sammy and Nipper.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Burton (Denise) of Effingham, Kelly Burton of Mason, Terressa Martin (Joseph) of St. Elmo and Cheryl Parker (David) of Effingham; her sisters, Flossy Stanberry (Jimmy) and Virginia Rigdon; her sister-in-law Crystal Sexton (Alonzo); her grandchildren, Cara Martin-Pals (Justin) of Champaign, Jared Martin (Kari) of Patoka and Drew Parker (Vince) of Pittsburgh; her great grandchildren, Adley, Brynley Martin of Patoka, Huxley Pals of Champaign and River Carll of Pittsburgh; and her grandchild Farina. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made in Gerry's honor to Old Loogootee Cemetery in Loogootee, Illinois.
