Delbert J. Habing Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Delbert J. Habing of Altamont, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 17, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Aloysius "Allie" Habing and Elizabeth Habing (Goeckner); his son Dennis Habing; his brother Donald Habing; and his siblings-in-law, Jane Habing, Judy Habing, John Giesler, Thelma Russell (Ed) and Betty Hartke (Jim).
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Habing; his daughters, Vickie Borries (Jim) and Penny Deters (Dennis); his grandchildren, Josh Borries, Jake Borries (Jessica), Justin Deters (Wendy), Danielle Westendorf (Kurt), Nikki Probst (Tony), Lee Deters (Brooke Shoemaker) and Michelle Habing; his siblings, Mabel Harris, Clarence Habing (Jeannie), John Habing, Raymond Habing, Marcella Antrim (Don) and Mardell Giesler; his brother-in-law Donald Cordes (Mary); and his daughter-in-law Norma Blythe (Sam). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bauer Funeral Home (1212 W Evergreen Ave, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials can be made to the Effingham VFW Auxiliary or HSHS Home Health and Hospice so they may continue to graciously help families in times of need.
