We are sad to announce that on November 5, 2021, at the age of 93, Robert Sweeney of Alpha, Illinois, born in Davenport, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William D. Sweeney and Ethel J. Sweeney (Walker); his wife Linda Diane Sweeney; and his siblings, Dorothy Schloemer (Paul), MaryLou Smith (Jim) and Jack Sweeney.

He is survived by: his children, William Sweeney (Cynthia), Elizabeth Dorton (Donald) and Robert Sweeney II (Shannon); his grandchildren, Kory Sweeney, Lauren Sweeney, Michael Dorton (Maja), Stephanie Dorton, Joseph Dorton, Sara Degeeter (Jared), Thomas Dorton (Cassidy), Bailey Ross and Maliek Sylla; his great grandchildren, Zoey, Deaken and Levi; his brother William Sweeney (Donna); and his siblings-in-law, Betty Sweeney and David Hunn.
