He was predeceased by: his parents, Orin Gale and Lola Beth Black (Morrow); and his brother Doug Black. He is survived by: his wife Laura; his children, Laurie Aten (Lance) of Galesburg, Jeff Black (Angie) of Carol Stream and Eric Black (Lisa) of Naperville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Connor, Grant Aten, Abbey, Jake, Sophie Black, Ellie and Nora Hoel; and his brothers, Mike Black (Bev) of Washington, Bill Black (Sherry) of Washington, Larry Black of Iowa City, Steve Black (Denise) of Webster, Gary Black (Jackie) of Ankeny, Tom Black (Deb) of Washington and Brad Black (Bonnie) of Sigourney, Iowa. He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews; 29 great-nieces and great-nephews; and two great-great-nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Horizon Room at Trimble Pointe (701 12th St, Moline, IL 61265). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the CityView Room at Trimble Pointe (701 12th St, Moline, IL 61265).
