He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Brahmstedt and Ella Algren Brahmstedt Sr.; his wife Norma Jean Riley; his stepmother Stella Brahmstedt; his son Richard; and his siblings, Ruth Sandburg, Pete and Glen Brahmstedt.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Meirhaeghe (Don McLaughlin) of Sherrard, Illinois, Sara Brahmstedt of Galesburg, Illinois and Carl G. Brahmstedt of Denver, Colorado; and his grandchildren, Lori, David, Nikki, Chelsey, Ryan, Lainey, Brandy, Cierra, O'Brion and Tre'Anna. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
