It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ralph John Mirka of Alma, Illinois, born in Maple Heights, Ohio, who passed away on March 19, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stanley and Anna Mirka (Hejl); his wife Margaret "Peggy" Mirka; and his pet Chico. He is survived by: his sister Margaret McDonald (Robert) of Mt. Pleasant, MI; his friends, Leonard, Sue Rose of Centralia, Richard and Alfreda Porte of Alma, Illinois.; and his siblings, Bernard, Raymond, Johnny, Joseph Mirka and Maryann Mirka Gosser. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
They are remembered for their contribution to many interests, among them Salem Township Hospital having a wing dedicated as the Ralph and Margaret Mirka Wing, and the Centralia Humane No-Kill Society.
