He is survived by: his wife Beulah Johnston; his children, William Holmes (Amanda Cripp), James Holmes (Stephanie), Jennifer Simmons (Sean) and Heather Carlson (Jeff); and his siblings, Billy Grissom (Nancy) and Ruth Spears (Gene).
The family is requesting donations to be made to the funeral home to help with the cost of the cremation.
