Mikal Gunn lit a candle

“I met Tom while working as a security guard at the Illinois Tollway Call Center at UIC. Tom was always kind to me , many mornings offering to buy something from Dunkin for me and other coworkers. Over the years I learned of his love for his wife, daughters and grand daughter. I always enjoyed talking Chicago sports and current events. My prayers and condolences to the entire family and God be with you and comfort you all. I definitely will miss Tom and appreciated knowing him.”

Denee' D. (Nae Sings) wrote a sympathy message

“Tom was so much fun to talk to at work. He was so full of energy. He always had funny stories to share. From his stories I learned that he thinks the White Sox is the best baseball team in Chicago. Everyone knew he has a twin brother and he loved his wife and his 2 daughters. White Sox and Family is all he ever discussed. My condolences to the Nemec family. Cherish all of your memories. I am sure you have many more than I do. God Bless, Denee' C. Dent --The Chicago Lighthouse”

Bill Nagel wrote a sympathy message

“Tom was such a great human. He made work fun - always quick to make you laugh, willing to share advice or lend a hand, or just be present to listen and coach. He was so supportive of others and I directly benefited from knowing him. He was a good friend and a wonderful role model of being a husband and father, showing a good balance of work and life. Hugs to Sue, the girls and whole family. Wish I could be there to celebrate his life with you.”
