Though Melvin may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Horton and Nellie Horton; and his son Jeffrey Horton. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Horton (Schambach); his son Douglas Horton (Susan); his grandsons, Justin Horton (Katie) and Joshua Horton (Erin); and his great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Ethan, Malachi and Elijah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Laird Funeral Home (310 S State St, Elgin, IL 60123).
