He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank "Fritz" (Mary) and Evelyn Bertagnoli; his wife Shirley Bertagnoli; and his brother Michael Bertagnoli. He is survived by: his daughters, Katherine Habel (Rob) and Sherry Sliwinski (Mark); his grandchildren, Rebecca "Becca" Morgan Habel, Ashley Mae Habel, Christopher Sliwinski, Mark Sliwinski Jr. and Julia Mae Sliwinski; and his siblings-in-law, Diana Fleming, Barb Watkins and Wayne Fleming.
Interment with honors will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Diabetes Association or Catholic Charities.
