He was predeceased by: his son Nicholas (Katherine Chernikovich); his wife Barbara Chernikovich (Jones); and his brother Gary Chernikovich. He is survived by: his siblings, William Chernikovich and Susan Orbesen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Mark's name would be appreciated to The Assisi Animal Shelter of McHenry County.
