He was predeceased by: his parents, Water M. Finch and Ola D. Bigham Finch; his wife Judy; his sister Karen; and his brothers-in-law, Jim Walker and Richard Stearns.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Finch (Mindy) of Sherrard, IL, Lynn Finch of Aledo, IL and Laurie Wood (Mike) of Aledo, IL; his sister Sandra King (Dave) of Orion, IL; and his grandchildren, Brandon Finch (Veronica) of Chicago, IL, Beth Reschke (Kevin) of Apex, NC, Tyler Wood (Amber) of Aledo, IL, Colton Wood of Los Angeles, CA and Spencer Wood (Dina Falk) of Fort Collins, CO. He is also survived by grandchildren; several nieces and one nephew.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services (103 SW 3rd St, Aledo, IL 61231).
He was particularly proud of the opportunity he had to donate his time and architectural services to the creation of the Central Park Bandshell where he enjoyed watching community members gather in wholesome fellowship and shared civic pride for the little town that he called home. It is in that spirit that his family requests that all memorials be directed to the Aledo City Hall for ongoing programming, maintenance and improvement of that facility.
