He was predeceased by: his brother Thomas J. Lower; and his father-in-law Darrell Hutchins. He is survived by: his parents, Lloyd "Bud" and Kathryn Lower (Tolliver); his son-in-law Nikki Taylor of Aledo; his son Patrick M.; his daughter-in-law Rae Beth Lower; his grandchildren, Tess, Tatum, Teagan Taylor, Aledo R, Patrick R., Paige Lower and Fulton; his siblings, Joe Lower (Laurie), Ed Lower (Denise), Matt Lower (Bev), Vicki Bluedorn (Bill) of Milan, IL and Sue Bieri; his mother-in-law Lorraine Hutchins; and also Jim Taylor of Aledo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
