It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice E. Doherty of Aledo, Illinois, who passed away on August 23, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Don L. Lingafelter and Barbara Lingafelter (Mead); her husband John F. "Jack" Doherty; her sister Crystal Dickey; her stepson Jim Doherty; and her granddaughter-in-law Michelle Weckerly.
She is survived by: her children, Jay (Wendy Doherty), Jaci (Bill Weckerly), John (Jana), Josh Keever (Milan) and Mitch (Julie Doherty) of Weaver, IA; and her grandchildren, Jason, Cassie Doherty, Brittany Doherty, John Doherty, Brandon, Halee Doherty, Dillon Weckerly, Garrett Weckerly, Jacklyn Weckerly, Madison Keever, Noah Keever, Derek, Kristin Doherty, Kelsie, Dominic Abbey and Kyle Doherty. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren; siblings.
Memorials may be made to St. Catherine's Catholic Church or to the Mercer County Veteran Grave Marker Program.
