Geoffrey Hughes Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Geoffrey Hughes in Alden, Illinois, who passed away on February 26, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wesley Hughes and Faith Hughes (Potwin); his sister Diana Hughes; his wife Judith Atkins; his daughters, Lisa Hughes-Daniel (Nadav) and Stephanie Hughes; his grandchildren, Talia, Noa Daniel, Tessa and Gabe Schmelling; and his sister Pegatha Hughes (Paul). He was also cherished by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Golden K Kiwanis Club of Bloomington (Golden K Fund for Kids), where Geoff devoted many of his later years and served as president until October 2022, or to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
