He was predeceased by: his father Robert Ellis, Sr. (Sharlyn). He is survived by: his mother Betty Ellis (Leathers) of Albion, IL; his sons, Bob Ellis III (Francie) of Albion, IL, Chris Ellis (Lee) of Chandler, IN and Jeremy Ellis of Albion, IL; his sister Judy Mullinnax (Clyde) of Fairfield, IL; his grandchildren, Abby Ellis, Bob Ellis IV, Kenzie Brafford (Kyle), Dannette Schutz, Lexington Ellis and Cawood Ellis; and his great grandchild Azaley Brafford.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to The Wayne County Humane Society.
