We are sad to announce that on October 24, 2023, at the age of 64, Douglas G. Maassen of Albers, Illinois, born in Sioux Center, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parent Marinus; and his parents-in-law, Richard and Mary Gaul. He is survived by: his wife Donna R. Gaul; his mother Jennie Maassen of Rock Valley, IA; his sons, Nicholas Maassen of Albers, Ryan Maassen (Shae) of Troy and Derek Maassen (Kylee) of Shiloh; his grandchildren, Mia Jane, Miles Richard, Cade Michael and Owen Douglas; his siblings, Sandi Anderson (Steve), Butch Maassen (Karen), Mike Maassen (Liane), Brad Maassen (Mike), Larry Maassen (Pam), Leanne Bliek (Doug) and Brent Maassen (Carisa); and his siblings-in-law, Mike, Beth Stumm, Becky Gaul, Charley and Ann Stumm. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and will be received at the funeral home.
