He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde K. and Hazel Peterson, Sr. (Meyers); his son Jay; his siblings, Gale, Clyde Jr., Nancy Courson and Sally Housh; his nephews, Rory Courson and Todd Courson; and his pets, Nikki and Buster.
He is survived by: his former wife Cathy Lagnese; his girlfriend Ramona Sickles; his children, Tiffani Hamerlinck (Todd), Jodi Cooper (Jim), Lyndi Mallory (Mark Russell), Trista Person (Danelle), Adrienne Frakes (Dusty) and Avon; his grandchildren, Adam Hamerlinck (Annie), Andrew, Alex, Aidan Hamerlinck, Olivia Sims, Sydney Cooper, Trevor Baker, Tayven Person, Hailey Demery, Madi, Jojo, DJ Frakes and Trail; his pets, Bandit and Karma; and his brother Donald Peterson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to guidelines associated with the Covid-19 Pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited occupancy for the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Abingdon Fire Department or the Knox County Humane Society.
