It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ruth Hastings of Abingdon, Illinois, born in Carmi, Illinois, who passed away on June 20, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Theodore and Mabel Wilda Smock (Rankin). She is survived by: her husband Jack Hastings; her daughter Ronel Martin (Bob) of Alexis; her grandchildren, Rhyder Gray and Valen Gray; and her siblings, Steve Smock of Oklahoma and June Smith of Carmi. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
