It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Buckalew of Abingdon, Illinois, born in Knoxville, Iowa, who passed away on November 7, 2020, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert J. "Bob" and Mary Elizabeth Buckalew (Feight). He is survived by: his wife Phillis L. Sperry; his children, Bradly Buckalew (Jill) of Winterset, Iowa and Jennifer Urmy (Christopher) of Bettendorf, Iowa; his grandchildren, Haley Buckalew, Braden Buckalew, Bryce Buckalew and Vaughn Urmy; his siblings, Debra McClaren (Bryan) of Leon, Diane Buckalew (Kim) of Chariton, Doyle Buckalew of Williamson, Carroll Buckalew of Des Moines and Teresa Buckalew (Dale Foster) of Williamson, Iowa; his brother-in-law Frank Sperry (Patti Honiotes) of Minooka, Illinois; and his close friend Jeff Hawkins (Tammy) of Altoona, Iowa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a time to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
