We bid farewell to Maxine Collins of Abingdon, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 7, 2024 at the age of 99. Maxine touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Thrasher and Bessie B. Thrasher (McCarty); her former husband Fred Johnson; her husband Donald Collins, Sr.; her siblings, Glenn Thrasher and Opal Burton; her stepson Duane Collins; and her granddaughter Kelli Johnson Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Dan Johnson of Abingdon and Kristy Austin (Andy) of Abingdon; and her stepchildren, Ronnie Collins of Kentucky, Don Collins, Jr. of Siota, Nancy Pieper of Bushnell, Kay Collins of Florida and Pat Harper of Macomb. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
