With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George L. Onion of Abingdon, Illinois, born in North Henderson, Illinois, who passed away on February 20, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Onion and Lucille Onion (Hendricks); and his siblings, Gene Onion, Betty Miller and Susan Howard.
He is survived by: his wife Melba J. Onion of Abingdon; his children, Brian Onion (Cynde) of Abingdon, Melanie Jensen (Bernie Schott) of Eldersburg and Teresa Kaloupek (Neal) of Ames; and his brother Russell Onion, Jr. of Abingdon.
Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Christian Church or the Abingdon Rotary Club.
