He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles A. Akin, Sr. and Erma Alene Brooke Akin; and his wife Karen Bobb. He is survived by: his children, Joseph Akin of Galesburg and Kristy Akin of Galesburg; and his brothers, Charles Akin, Jr. of Rushville and Larry Akin of Knoxville. He is also survived by one aunt, five cousins and nieces and nephews.
