He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Clayton Atwood and Betty Rose Atwood (Morstetter); and his brother Brian Dale "Duke" Atwood. He is survived by: his former wife Nancy Kay Yates; his children, Loris Renee Atwood of Abingdon, Jeri Lynn Galloway (Kevin) of Henderson and Arthur Clayton Atwood, Jr. of Abingdon; and his brother Larry Shayne Atwood (Phyllis) of Latham. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Due to social distancing limitations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, a time to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
