He was predeceased by: his parents, Houston T. Hitt, Sr. and Betty Sproat Hitt; his former spouse Troyce Bevelhymer; his son Lance; and his siblings, Joel Hitt, Houston Hitt, Jr., Elaine Schwager and Beth Carpenter.

He is survived by: his daughter Becky; his girlfriend Joan Priest; his daughter Michele Kunkel (Don) of Yamhill, OR; his granddaughter Becky Hitt of Boise; his daughter-in-law Dodi Hitt of Middleton; his brother Dr. Douglas Hitt of Cascade; and also, A. J. O'Neal of Cascade and Genene Gregor. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, special friends.
