He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mack J. Akins and Evelyn Burtt Akins; his wife Phyllis Hoover; his daughter Dawn; his son-in-law Mark Jones; his children, Julie Akins and Mark Akins; his grandchildren, McKain, Mandy, Molly-Mac Jones, Monroe, Presley, Preston Atkinson, Kirnen, Maganne and Mirren Akins; his sisters, Evelyn Reed of Tulsa and Donna Coleman of Tulsa; and his sister-in-law Frances Denton.
