He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora Cunningham and Elmer Cunningham; his stepson Richard "Dickie"; his children, James and Deborah; and his brothers, Eugene and Don.
He is survived by: his former wife Pauline Swinderman; his wife Rachel; his children, Harold Mehrer, Kathe Mehrer Owen and Carla Cox; his grandchildren, Leigh C. Knudson, Kathryn C. Hale and Wesley H. Christensen; and his sibling Falls. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
