She was predeceased by: her parents, Frieda McEvers and Ernest McEvers; her former husband Lynn Rice; her daughter Brenda Rice; and her brother Ray McEvers.

She is survived by: her sibling Falls; her son Paul (Bim); her husband Paul F. Short; her children, Terri Pooler (Rod), Dana Powers, Bim Short (Joni) and Stan Short (Linda); and her grandchildren, Wendy, Rickey, Phillip, Justin, Casey, Jaclyn, Patrick, Amanda, Michelle, Kimberlee, Kevin, Amy, Andrea, Angela, Taryn, Kyrsten, Jace, Taigen, Paul, Sam and Mary.
