He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Price Ringel and Roberta May Mackley Ringel; his brother Dale M. Ringel; and his brother-in-law Francis "Blue" Dalley. He is survived by: his significant other Lori Ann Bell; his children, Matthew R Ringel (Sheela), James Clifton Ringel (Britney), HeatherAnn Gottemoeller (Adam) and David J Ringel; and his siblings, Charlotte Moulton (Vance), Linda Dalley and Brent Ringel. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
