He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Alice Cooper and Leslie Buffington (Bud); his great-grandparents, Bud, Beulah Mink, Ray and Marie O'Brien; his great-uncles, Owen Mink and Leonard O'Brien (Lenora); and his uncle Dave Buffington (Brenda).
He is survived by: his sons, Elijah and Noah Buffington; his parents, Larry Buffington and Kathy Vellegas; his stepfather Tom Vellegas; his stepsister Kim Geurin (Jeff); his grandparents, Fred and Elzo O'Brien; his uncle Steve O'Brien; his aunts, Tamara McKenzie (Jon) and Jane Sampson (Mark); his nieces, Mariah Silva and Alexis Vigil; and his cousins, Sarah Dimmett (Zeb), Kristen Miller (Josh), Caitlin Kirchdorfer (Michael), Tanner O'Brien, Rebecca McKenzie, Patty Weeks (Nathan), Sam, Morgan Weeks, Keith Buffington, Sasha Finnan, Kurt, Joe Sampson, Jody Irwin and Shelly Irwin.
